Plot:
Several years after the events of WALL-E (2008), where WALL-E (voiced by Ben Burtt) and his love interest EVE (voiced by Elissa Knight) successfully reintroduced plant life to Earth, the planet is slowly beginning to recover. Though nature has started to make a comeback, the task of restoring Earth to a sustainable, vibrant planet is far from complete. The atmosphere is still recovering, and human activity is still needed to help heal the wounds left by centuries of pollution.
WALL-E, ever loyal to his mission, continues to clean up the remnants of humanity’s waste and help nurture the new life forms sprouting on Earth. However, a new dilemma arises when a strange signal is detected from deep space—something is calling humanity to return to the planet. The human population, once residing on the spaceship Axiom, is now faced with the prospect of coming back to Earth. But with this return comes a new, unforeseen set of challenges, both technological and environmental.
The story takes a turn when WALL-E and EVE discover that an alien species has taken an interest in Earth’s recovery—and not necessarily for the right reasons.
